Can I use an Anglepoise light in a bathroom?

As standard (unless stated otherwise), our lights are IP (Ingress Protection) rated to IP20 which means they are suitable for use in dry indoor environments only. Typically, these are domestic standard environments like living rooms or offices etc.

If you intend to use our products in environments such as bathrooms or other environments that can expose the products to areas of high humidity or moisture during use, then a full risk assessment by a qualified electrician or installation engineer of both the product and installation location and surrounding area combined is mandatory.

Liability and risks arising from such installations are entirely the installer’s responsibility and those who have undertaken the formal risk assessment. Areas of high humidity and moisture such as bathrooms or kitchens may also result in some components experiencing some rust or corrosion and this would not be covered by our standard workmanship warranty.
