Model 1227, Model 75 and Model/Apex 90 FAQs

Model 1227 - 1938-1968

Can I purchase new springs for my Model 1227?

Unfortunately, we have not reproduced the springs for the Model 1227. We would recommend looking at places like eBay to see if you can source a second-hand set - they are usually £30-40. If your springs are just tarnished/rusty, customers have had great success cleaning their springs up with vinegar, baking soda, or lemon juice or having them ultrasonically cleaned!

I'm missing some nuts and bolts, can you supply these?

We may be able to supply certain missing nuts and bolts - please send a picture of the areas in which they as missing and we will see what we can do.

I'm missing the linkage bar and thumbwheel, can you supply this?

Yes, we can supply an M3 bolt and thumbwheel for £10 including P&P. The bolt may need trimming down a little. This will be on the website soon!

Model 75 - 1968-1973

Can I purchase new springs for my Model 75?

I'm missing the spring clip on my Model 75, can you supply this?

The spring clip is a little metal clip that fits into the underside of the top arm. It keeps the shade joint in place.

We can supply a small, black, nylon screw that can be fixed into the hole in the arm. It may need trimming down a little. 

Model 90 - 1973-1985

Can I purchase new springs for my Model 90?

Yes, our Apex 90 Springs are compatible with the Model 90s.

I need a new switch and/or bulb holder, can you supply this?

Yes, the Apex Switch and Bulb Holder Kit is compatible with the Model 90s or they can use the Model 90 Rewire Kit or Model 90 Rewire Service.

I'm missing some nuts and bolts, can you supply these?

Model 99 - 1978-1995

I need a new switch for my Model 99, can you supply this?

Unfortunately we don't stock replacement switches for Model 99s however, the size of the switch should be 19 x 13mm and you'll be able to find these on places like Amazon, Screwfix or B&Q.

I need a new bulb holder, can you supply this?

Our Apex 90 Switch and Bulb Holder Kit will supply the bulb holder, but you won't need the switch.

Apex 90 - 1985-2003

Can I purchase new springs for my Apex 90?

Yes, Apex 90 Springs are available to purchase on our website

I would like my Apex 90 rewired, can you supply a kit or service?

Yes, you can purchase our Model 90 Rewire Kit or Model 90 Rewire Service - compatible with Apex 90.
