How to Install a Replacement Apex 90 Spring Hanger

These are instructions on how to install a replacement Apex 90 Spring Hanger (10156)

Method 1: Remove the End Cap (Recommended)

1. Locate the end cap on either end of the  linkage bar.
2. The end caps are a star-lock style fitting. Using a small flat-head screwdriver, carefully and gently prise off one of the end caps.
3. Once the end cap has been removed, slide the linkage bar out far enough to release the linkage bar arms from the integrated pin on the spring hanger.
4. Push both tabs securing the hanger to the arm in simultaneously and pull to release. Insert new spring hanger and linkage bar pin.
5. Attach both linkage bar arms onto the linkage pin on spring hanger.
6. Reinsert the linkage bar through the assembly.
7. Before refitting the end cap, ensure any raised or protruding tabs have been pressed back into place.
8. Push the end cap firmly back onto the pin.

Method 2: Loosen the Fork Pivot Bolts

If you would prefer not to remove the end cap:

1. Slightly loosen the fork pivot bolts on the lamp.
2. This should provide enough movement to release the linkage bar arms from the integrated linkage pin on the spring hanger.
3. Simultaneously push both tabs in that secure the spring hanger to the arm, remove the old spring hanger and fit the replacement.
4.  Re-attach linkage bar arms onto the linkage pin on the spring hanger and retighten the fork pivot bolts securely.
